THE EVENT IS GOING AHEAD, THE WEATHER FORECAST IS GOOD!
In 2018, Château de Prangins celebrates 20 years as home to the Swiss National Museum in French-speaking Switzerland. To honour this milestone the artist Muma, who created a social sculpture in the historical kitchen garden back in 2008, returns on Saturday 29 September 2018 with 50,000 candles and a work entitled “Flowers of Fire”. Some 500 volunteers will be taking part in a light performance that promises to be both beautiful and an unforgettable collective experience. The illumination is a reference to the idea of clarity dear to the Age of Enlightenment – an era of which Château de Prangins is an iconic monument.
The commune of Prangins is partnering with this unique event and organising its village fête on the same day, with food trucks and drinks stands. Sunday 30 September 2018 sees the tenth edition of “Déjeuner sur l’herbe” (Lunch on the Grass), with its famous historical costume parade open to all that, this time round, takes us on an amazing journey through the period from 1700 to 1920, from powdered wigs to pixie haircuts.
